Workers' Compensation
Workers' compensation injuries occur more commonly in physically demanding jobs, however that's not to say they can't occur in just about any profession. The following are some of the most common causes of injuries at work:
- Strains of the lumbar or thoracic spine
- Shoulder strains or impingement
- Sprains
- Fall injuries
- Overuse and repetitive strain injuries
- Other job site related injuries
Claims Process
We understand that a workers compensation claims process can be daunting. We are here to help as much as we can. Our goal is to help you get back to work; after you've filed a claim with your employer, we recommend you setup an appointment with a doctor. Depending on the severity of your injury your doctor may recommend imaging, physical therapy, or modified return to work accommodations.
Roberts Physical Therapy will do everything to help you during your return-to-work care. Upon scheduling an appointment with our office, you will be asked for the following:
- Claim information: claim number and adjuster contact information
- Referral from your doctor
- Work injury date and employer's information
How Physical Therapy Can Help
Regardless of the type of injury, physical therapy can help! We understand that every person is different, therefore you you'll receive valuable time with our staff. We'll listen to what you have to say about your injury and a treatment will be tailored to your situation and will suit your pain or therapy needs. During your first appointment the therapist will take time to listen to how you were injured, evaluate your symptoms, strength, and range of motion. After a diagnosis is formed, our team will work closely with you to help decrease your pain, increase your strength, and work to get you back to work as soon as possible. Your treatment will be focused to resolve acute symptoms related specifically to the injury while providing a movement exercise program to restore range of motion and mobility. Your treatment plan will be created with your input and goals safely return to work. During your care, our team will transition you into a work conditioning program to prepare your body for return-to-work demands. It is our goal to ensure a full recovery and to minimize re-injury concerns with the transition back to work.
Let's start your health journey today and get you back to work!
