Why Choose Us?

Continuation of Care
When you choose Roberts & Associates for your physical therapy needs, you will see the same practitioner from your first visit to your last. This ensures that your physical therapist is able to create and follow through on the most effective plan of care. There will be no concern of miscommunication between therapists that could potentially delay your recovery. This emphasis on continuation of care also enhances communication with your physician.

Convenient Appointment Times
At Roberts & Associates, we feel a person shouldn’t have to use vacation or even sick time to pursue health care. By offering early and late appointment times, you will receive physical therapy without having to deal with the added stress of leaving work early, trying to find a ride in the middle of the day, or using up your vacation time.

Continuing Education
Roberts & Associates offers its therapist more continuing education funds per year than almost any other clinic in the state. How does this benefit you the patient? By offering its therapists a generous amount of continuing education, they are able to stay up to date with the latest techniques, offering their patients the most effective treatments available.

Focus on Manual Therapy
At Roberts & Associates, we use a combination of osteopathic and traditional manual therapy techniques. This approach utilizes the hands of the therapist to treat the source of the problem, not just the pain or symptoms. By treating the cause of your pain, you are able to achieve a faster return to your previous activity level.

Aquatic Therapy
Roberts & Associates offers aquatic therapy as a treatment option. This form of physical therapy uses the beneficial properties of water to assist a person in their rehabilitation. Water can help a person strengthen an arthritic joint without having to submit the joint to the pressure and pounding that gravity provides and allows a person to improve their balance without the fear of falling on the ground. For the patient attempting to return to athletic competition, aquatic therapy will allow them to begin sport specific exercises and cardiovascular retraining earlier than typically allowed with traditional land based treatment.

What is Physical Therapy?

Physical therapists are a group of highly trained specialists who work with a patient to restore their activity, strength, and motion following an injury or surgery. Physical therapists at Roberts & Associates strive to use the most effective treatment techniques while educating the patient on the cause, treatment, and future ideas for prevention of their current problem. It is in this philosophy of educating our patients on their current condition that sets physical therapists apart from other forms of rehabilitation or treatment of musculoskeletal disorders. At Roberts & Associates we firmly believe that an informed patient, who understands the how and why of their injury will have a faster and more permanent recovery time than a patient who is “left in the dark”.By the time a physical therapist is ready to begin practicing, they will have undergone 7 years of schooling beyond highschool, gained hands-on experience in a variety of clinical settings, and must pass a rigorous national board exam to become eligible to be licensed in their particular state. Beyond these years of initial training, physical therapists must also pursue ongoing training for the duration of their careers to maintain their knowledge base of the most effective treatment techniques.

How do I know if I need physical therapy?
Roberts & Associates Physical Therapy, S.C. offers free consultations in which you can sit down with a physical therapist to see if your condition needs formal physical therapy or if a few simple stretches or suggestions can help solve your problem. We will go out of our way for our patients to educate and create feasible solutions for their aches and pains.

That is a question I am afraid we can not help answer. Sometimes rational thoughts are tough to come by!
